Dragon Shelter Guide

Dragon Shelter is a farming and life sim from developer Wild Forest Studio, published by Curve Games and released for Windows on Steam on September 24, 2026. The official store description sets the premise: you rebuild your grandfather's abandoned farm, raise dragon companions, and help a nearby town that has fallen into gloom rediscover its sense of joy and community, with the long-lost friendship between humans and dragons as the thing you are restoring.

The loop the developer describes has four strands. You grow crops and gather resources on the farm, befriend dragons whose traits and special powers help with farm work, cook and craft with everything you harvest, and reconnect with the townsfolk so the town comes back to life. Cooking is explicitly called the heart of crafting in the store description, and every harvest can go into cooking, crafting, alchemy or trade. Dragons are the game's hook rather than decoration: the developer's own FAQ says they spend time with you, help on the farm, and each have their own quirks and character traits.

On Steam the game ships as a single-player release with 23 achievements, full controller support and Steam Cloud. It carries a Steam Deck compatibility result of Playable, with interface text not legible at default size as the one recorded warning. A separate free demo has been on Steam since June 5, 2025 and its save carries into the full game. Reviews were Mixed at the time of writing, at 68% positive from 198 reviews, and the developer has published a Patch 1 news post acknowledging that stamina, explanations, bugs and too much walking around town are the most-raised problems.
